Clubhouse Dress Code

As a premier private club, the dress code for the Marine Drive clubhouse will be left to individual sense of good taste. Members and guests are expected to be wearing smart casual clothing in good repair.

Please refrain from wearing hats (unless on the patio), sweat pants and exercise clothing.

Golf Course / Practice Range Dress Code

As a premiere private golf club, all members and guests must be appropriately dressed at all times. It is the member’s responsibility to see that their guests are informed of the club’s policies regarding the dress code.

Gentleman on the Golf Course / Practice Range

Shirts
Collared shirts, turtlenecks or mock necked shirts are permitted. Shirts must be tucked in at all times.

Pants
Tailored slacks and golf shorts with a front zipper are permitted. Shorts must be at least mid-thigh in length.

Not Permitted – Cargo pants or shorts with baggy pouches on the side, track pants, blue jeans or sweat pants.

Socks
Socks must be worn at all times.

Hats
All hats must be worn with the bill facing forward.

Ladies on the Golf Course / Practice Range

Shirts
Tops must be appropriate golf attire.Tops must either have sleeves or have a collar. While certain tailored tops may be worn outside of bottoms, tops must cover the midriff at all times.

Pants
Tailored slacks, capri pants, golf skirts or golf shorts are permitted. Skirts and shorts must be at least mid-thigh in length.

Not permitted – Cargo pants or shorts with baggy pouches on the side, track pants, blue jeans or sweat pants. Elastic leggings may only be worn under a skirt, dress or shorts.

Cell Phones

The use of cell phones for texting is permitted. We ask that you keep your phone on silent / vibrate mode and refrain from talking on your phone in the clubhouse or on the golf course and practice facilities. Speaking on your cell phone is permitted in the locker rooms, parking lot, and in the phone room near the washrooms on the 2nd floor. The use of laptops and tablets is permitted in The Grill except during dinner service (after 5:00 PM).

Check-in

Please arrive at the Club at least 30 minutes prior to your designated tee time and sign-in with the Golf Shop.

Bag Drop

Our bag drop service is located at the bottom of the driveway to the left of the clubhouse. Use the phone provided to call the attendant.

Locker

Guest lockers are available. Contact the Golf Shop Staff, Locker Room Attendant or Club Receptionist when you arrive at the Club for keys and location.

Pace of Play

We pride ourselves on a reasonable pace of play in our time-starved world. Rounds of three hours and thirty minutes are not unusual at Marine Drive and all players are expected to play in four hours or less. This will give you more time to relax before heading off for the rest of your day.

Rules of Golf

The Rules of Golf as approved by Golf Canada will apply, in conjunction with the following local rules:

• Practice Fairway: any ball finishing within the marked area of the practice fairway is in a “no play zone” and the player must drop a ball from the first range poll. No penalty.
• Rock Walls: all rock walls forming tees are an integral part of the course and thus are not obstructions.
• Sprinkler Heads Close to Putting Greens: interference exists if an obstruction is on the player’s line of play, and is within two club lengths of the putting green, and is within two club-lengths of the ball. No relief under this local rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.

Course Care & Etiquette

• Divots: Please fill in divots with the sand/seed provided and toss the divot into the rough.
• Push/Pull Carts/Power Caddies: Push/pull carts and power caddies should not be taken across greens, tees or between greenside bunkers and the green.
• Ride on Power Carts: Ride on power carts should never be within 10 yards of greens and tees unless they are on a path. When travelling on and parking on paths, always park with all four tires on the path to avoid wear adjacent to the path. This includes in the vicinity of the putting green. Ride on power carts should never be taken onto short cut “aprons” around the green complex.
• Bunkers: After raking the bunkers, please leave the bunker rake inside the bunker with the handle resting on the edge of the bunker.
• Broken Tees: Please toss broken tees into the rough on the side of the tee boxes. Divots may be filled with the sand/seed provided.
• Ball Marks: Please fix ball marks on the greens by “pushing in” with the repair tool, and avoid “lifting up” the ground below the ball mark, which can damage the roots.
