ABOUT THE CANADIAN WOMEN'S AMATEUR
Over a century old and with more than 100 titles contested, the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship is among the oldest golfing competitions in Canada and has spawned a long list of great champions who have gone on to see international success.
Past winners have included Dawn-Coe Jones, A.J. Eathorne, past Marine Drive member Marilyn (Palmer) O’Connor and current LPGA star Brooke Henderson who won the event in 2013 to raise the coveted Duchess of Connaught Gold Cup – presented annually to the Women’s Amateur Champion.
Marine Drive Golf Club is looking forward to hosting the 105th Canadian Women’s Amateur Golf Championship on July 23-27th, 2018.
Hosting a national championship is a great opportunity for Marine Drive Golf Club. We will be welcoming some of the best amateur golfers from Canada and around the world while we showcase our beautiful, and challenging, golf course.
Golf Canada's Amateur Championships are successful because of the hard work and dedication of the Committees and volunteers from the host club and community. Organizing and running the 2018 Canadian Women's Amateur Championship at Marine Drive Golf Club will require approximately 100 volunteers in total. Volunteer benefits include:
- See a strong International field of golfers (In 2017, 20 of the world's top 100 players competed)
- Be a part of one of Canada's longest running national championships
- Volunteers receive a tournament hat, shirt and lunch

***Members who sign up to volunteer by April 15th will be entered into a draw for 1 of 3 $100 dining vouchers to the Mixed Grill.
Due to the financial demands of playing amateur golf, some of the tournament competitors will be requesting to be billeted by a local family for the duration of the Championship (4-6 nights). We will be looking for approximately 20-30 billeting hosts. This is a great opportunity to host a possible future professional golfer and make a new friend. In the past, golfers have kept in touch with their billet and the host will follow the career of their billet. It is a rewarding experience.
People interested in being a billeting host are asked to contact Player Services & Transportation Chairs, Doug Stewart & Rhiannon Charles by emailing their interest to firstname.lastname@example.org >>
*Please note that all billeting hosts will be subject to a background check by Golf Canada.
Thank you for your interest in helping make this event a success!
